Yiannimize Live Leicester: 22,000 People, Two Days, One Unforgettable Weekend
On 22 and 23 August, we took over Leicester Airport, and you turned up in your thousands. 22,000 of you came through the gates for two days of drag racing, incredible machines and live entertainment.
Drag racing all weekend long
The runway was the heartbeat of the weekend. Drag race after drag race launched down the quarter-mile, with the crowd lining the strip for every run. From the first launch on Saturday to the final pass on Sunday, the noise, the smoke and the speed never let up.
So Solid Crew took the stage
It wasn’t just about what was happening on the strip. So Solid Crew performed live on stage, bringing serious energy to the site and a soundtrack to match the horsepower.
Over 1,000 cars, 100+ stands
More than 1,000 cars were on display, and with over 100 exhibitor stands there was always something new to see, whether you came for the cars, the mods or the merchandise.
Fun for the whole family
We’ve always wanted Yiannimize Live to be about more than the cars. Alongside the racing, you enjoyed helicopter rides, go-karting, a funfair, the FTGU Wrestling Arena, and a food and bar village to refuel between runs.
“Seeing 22,000 people come through the gates and line the runway was incredible,” said Yianni Charalambous. “The drag racing, the cars and So Solid Crew on stage all came together, and the atmosphere was exactly what we hoped for. Thank you to everyone who came and made it what it was.”
Bav Majithia, also added: “This was a huge team effort, and it was brilliant to see it all come together over the two days. Every exhibitor, driver, marshal and visitor played a part. We built it for the car community and for families, and I’m proud of what we delivered. We’re already looking forward to what comes next.”
